This package provides wire, parts equipment and documentation for the following systems.

Select Automation will provide you with labels for you to apply to the studs of your home to indicate where you would like the equipment and outlets to be located.

 

Since this package is being sold to you, the home owner, it is your responsibility to seek approval with your builder allowing Select Automation Inc to perform work on the property. Any additional fees or expenses required by the builder will be added to price of the package.

 

Home Control

This package includes a home control unit that allow you to control audio, video, security, lighting, temperature and security from anywhere in your home. The control unit is linked to each one of the systems in the house, so at the touch of a button you can control any or all of the systems. For example, when you want to watch a movie, the TV will turn on, the surround sound will be engaged, the lights will dim, the thermostat can be adjusted and the DVD player will be instructed to play.

 

You are able to set and refine any of the scenes in the home through the interfaces provided. Your living room and master bedroom TV’s are the primary control interface to your home. This interactive and intuitive interface allows you to monitor and control your home from the comfort of your living room. This package includes 3 touch screen controllers, 1 LCD controller and 4 RF remote controls so no matter what room you are in, controlling your home is at your fingertips.

 

 

Surround Sound

This package includes a super 7.1 surround sound system. Seven in-ceiling silk-dome speakers fill your living room with theater quality sound. The system integrates with your home control system so you will have a consistent interface to operate your system.

 

A 6 disc progressive scan DVD player accompanies this packages allowing you to play multiple music CD's or stage your favorite movies. 

 

 

Whole Home Audio

This package includes an 8 zone whole home audio system. This system will play any source (DVD player, cable digital music stations, MP3’s, etc) all throughout your home. This package provides each room with speakers a remote control or console to select which source (music) plays in that area. Each location can set its volume and source independent of other locations. You have ultimate control.

 

The home controller includes an 80 giga-byte hard drive allowing you to store your music selections. This music can be played anywhere in the house. In addition this controller can interact with your PC’s in your home allowing you to play the music on your computer anywhere in your home.

 

This system is also extensible. If you ever want to include more speakers, this system allows you to add wireless speaker points anywhere in your home.

 

 

Lighting Control

This package includes 30 controllable light switches. You will be able to control these lights from any remote control or console in your home. We use wireless technology so there are no wires and no mess. You are able to create lighting scenes from your TV or touch screen console. You can create a movie scene which turns off and dims the light level exactly to your needs. You can create a ‘Dusk’ scene that automatically sets accent and outside lights to predefined levels with the touch of a button.

 

Security

This package includes a security system. All doors and first floor windows are monitored and interior motion detectors are installed. The best part of the security system is that it integrates with the home control system. You will be able to monitor and set the security mode from any remote control or console in the house. Note: Select Automation does not provide a monitoring service. The home owner is responsible for setting up this service.

 

 

Temperature Control

This package includes 2 integrated controllable thermostats. You will be able to monitor and set the temperature from your living room or master bedroom TV, from any remote control or any console in your home. These thermostats integrate with the home control system so you may incorporate temperature adjustments when activating scenes. For example, you may create a ‘goodnight’ scene which turns off the lights, arms the security system and sets the temperature to 79 degrees. Another example is to create a ‘vacation’ scene which would turn off all the lights, arm the security, turn off all audio/video components and set the temperature to 83 degrees.

Note: These thermostats will operate most electric, gas and heat pump systems. However there are some advanced systems that are not supported. Contact you sales representative to determine if your units are supported.

 

 

Telephone Infrastructure

This package contains a robust telephone infrastructure. Each telephone outlet contains a separate Cat5e cable run to the Laundry Room. This configuration is called ‘home run’. Home running these cable provides the most flexibility for the future. You will be able to install normal telephones or you will have the option to install a complete phone system. This will allow you to easily separate lines for business, home office and personal use. All telephone lines will terminate in a panel in the laundry room into a telephone module containing a dedicated surge protector.

Network (Internet) Infrastructure

This package contains a robust network infrastructure. Each network outlet contains a separate Cat5e cable run to the Laundry Room. This configuration is called ‘home run’. Home running these cable provides the most flexibility for the future. The network outlets allow you to connect your computer to your own local home network. Once you establish an internet service provider, you will have internet access available from every network outlet. In addition to wired network outlets, this package also provides a wireless network environment as well. A wireless router included to provide wireless internet in your home.

TV (Cable & Satellite)

This package provides a standard TV structure wiring package. There will be a 4 wire RG6 quad-shield cable run from the outside utility’s location to the panel in the laundry room. This allows you to source a traditional cable feed to your home as well as provide a robust satellite pre-wire feed in the event you want to install a satellite system.

Each bedroom and living room location will have a single RG6 quad-shield cable run from the laundry room.  This will allow you to split your cable or multi-switch your satellite signal from the laundry room to each area of your home.
